Home & Ready for Served...

I am finally home, and of course, absolutely exhausted! I am looking forward to doing my first book tour with my book Served!  Paperback and E-edition will be gracing the waves soon. Also, as promised, I have the pictures from fandomfest on my facebook page as well as my website. Leaving for Home--

Well, as you know I've been at Fandomfest all weekend long. I hate to see this weekend go, but I'll be happy to be home with my husband. I didn't think I would miss him this much! lol But I do. I can't wait for Scarefest in September, he'll be able to go to that one and we'll get to go crazy over all the cool special effects and costumes that horror has to offer.

This weekend was great! Loads of books sold, autographs and pictures galore, and I got to see my two kids with very happy faces!

I can't wait to post all the pictures that were taken! The costumes were just fabulous!

I had an absolute blast with my roomies, Phyllis Seibert & Neal Saytovich! And, my other two author buds, Lisa Morgan & Charity Parkerson!  I had a great time meeting their families, hanging out at the convention, selling some books and meeting some new and, interesting, people. Can't wait til next time!

In the meantime, if you aren't too busy, check out my website at: www.danielleleezwissler.com, and sign my guestbook!  Also, you can follow me on twitter at: http://www.twitter.com/danielleleezwis

Holy Crap! Fandomfest is awesome!

Wow!  After arriving in Kentucky--beautiful blue skies and happy faces--I am reminded why I decided to go back to this beautiful state. It is a breathtaking place, horses running in fields, the smell of the country in the air, and thousands upon thousands of people wearing tights! haha... Love it. I am so excited about today's book signing and show. I'm looking forward to the author panels, author karaoke, the rave and meeting some of my childhood and now heroes!  It's so fun being an adult and still believing in fantasy. I'm grateful for the friends that I have and the wonderful family that I've made with my husband. My two children were dressed up in their costumes--Spiderman and Supergirl, and I will be wearing my Harry Potter gear today, as I think of my husband working. Poor guy didn't get to go this time.

I'll post pictures of all the fun events later. Today I get to meet Daryl & Merle from The Walking Dead! yeah!

A ticket to ride...

#4
If someone gave you a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

This one is hard, but the first thing that came to my mind was Scotland. I would love to see Scotland. And I guess while I was there I could see a few friends... Author Kristal Mckerrington for one. I would definitely check out the castles and take some time exploring some of the most beautiful places in the world.

Where would you go, and who would you take with you?

Free book this week--

So, I'm trying this new thing where I actually blog everyday--yikes. This isn't a first for me, I've tried before, but I am, so far, accomplishing it. Kudos to me. lol Yes, I know... 4 or 5 blogs and already I am patting myself on the back. Anyway, I have three free books out there right now. All different genres.

I'd appreciate the download and a review if you have time!  The links are below!

Math Times Two-  A math book on multiplication--this simple book teaches three different ways of learning-sight-sound-and repetition. This is only the x2 multiplication tables. The rest of the books will be out soon. I used these in helping my own daughter.

Merry Christmas Erotica- an erotic story collection (3) featuring Christmas naughtiness!

The Cowboy's Bride- A sweet romance novella. Book one in a series of 6 books.

The best vacation I have ever had...

#3 blog prompts--

The best vacation I have ever had...

It's hard to come up with the best vacation I have ever been on without thinking of the different moments in my life... so, I'll break it up into sections.

Childhood- best vacation in childhood would have to be when we went to Hawaii. My mom and dad had went there on their anniversary a year or so before we did--1985, and they had a delay on their flight so the airline gave them 2 free airline tickets. Needless to say, they brought us with them the next time and also took my dad's mom. It was a great time!

Sadly, being the goofy kid that I was, the best part of the trip for me was the zoo and the donut at Perry's Smorgasbord. lol That place was a gem! Yummy chocolate donuts... I am hungry now...

College- I'd say my favorite trip in college, sorry Earl, was when I went with my two friends Lindsay and Geoff to Canada. We decided, spur of the moment of course, to just drive there. It was only a four hour drive, to get some beer. lol You only had to be 19 there, and of course that was just the coolest. WE were all too poor to pay for a hotel, so we drove to the Holiday Inn Express and slept in the back of Geoff's station wagon in the parking lot. ha ha... It was a trip that I have thought about often in terror--thinking if my daughter does something stupid like that I'll ring her neck. ;)

Married- I'd have to say our family Disney trip in 2010, mainly because of our kids. I have never seen two kids more excited in my life. WE didn't have a whole hell of a lot, but the kids were incredibly happy and Earl and I were pretty damn happy ourselves. We saved and saved for that trip, making sure Ariana got the Bibbity Boppity Boutique visit and Logan the Cars experience. It was a blast and something that I will never forget.

What was your favorite vacation? Speaking of a great vacation, in my book, New Year Nookie, one beautiful lady and one sexy man meet up for the time of their lives! Why not check it out? It's only .99! The link is below!

A picture is worth a thousand words--

Today's blog prompt inspired by a picture... ( I chose a random picture and decided to write a short story, timed of course, for you!)

A picture is worth a thousand words...
Time: 5 minutes
Genre: Romance
Picture:  Bigstockphoto stock (I own this, please to don't copy and save this for your own use, respect the art of the owner.)

Ellie couldn't believe her eyes, there standing not two feet away from her, in a bingo hall of all places, was Jason Wilkes. Jake--her Jake.
It had been a long time since she had seen him, but that didn't make her body stop its reaction--the same feverish rush, heart pounding, flesh tingling rush that only Jake had ever given to her. Ellie closed her eyes, praying that he would come to her, praying that he wouldn't. It had been a long time ago since they last saw one another, but Ellie didn't forget anything about the one night they shared.
Passion. Even though it was hard to believe that two 18 year olds could evoke as much, they did, and she knew it now just by watching him. Ellie opened her eyes, took a deep breath and gasped. Jake was staring right at her. Thank God.
Making his way across the crowded hall, Jake  stopped a few times to speak to different well-wishers. The bingo hall at St. Moravion's was one of the popular places between senior citizens in the community. Jake had been there by shear fate. His grandmother refused to do anything anymore, so he picked her up, placed her in his truck and forced her to join the land of the living. He was glad he did. Not only did he see the one woman that he had been trying to get out of his head for the past fifteen years, he made his grandmother smile, and she hadn't stopped smiling since she walked in the door.
"Is that Ellie Thomas, Jason Michael?" Jake's grandmother, Ilsa prodded, knowing full well who the woman was. She hadn't changed a day, only instead of wearing her chestnut brown hair in a pony tail, it was cascaded down her back, ending just above the waistband of her jeans.
Jake swallowed. Lord have mercy. "Yes, Nana, it is. I'm going to say hi, if you don't mind."
"Oh, I don't mind. I'll just talk to Mary Claire over there by the card box."
Ilsa pointed to the corner of the hall and smiled, giving Jason the privacy he desired.
Jason leaned down and pecked his grandmother on the cheek. "I'll see you in a little bit."
"Don't rush back on my account, Jason. Be a gentleman."
Jason through his head back and chuckled. A grin spread wide over his face. "I will, Nana."

What that laugh did to Ellie was maddening. As she watched him stride over, she went over her mental checklist in her head. Okay, teeth--brushed, hair--(she ran her fingers through her hair and winced.) Okay, not as great. Clothing, eh. Everything would have to do, obviously.
"Ellie Thomas, is that you?"
Ellie looked up into a sea of emeralds. His eyes were one of his greatest features--one. "You know it is, Jake," she said huskily, not meaning to sound anything but normal, but with Jake all she could think of were satin sheets and a hot night.
"Yeah, you're right. How have you been?"
"Good. How about you, how was college?"
Jake's eyes brightened as he chuckled. "Well, yeah I guess that's where we left off, wasn't it?"
"Not quite."
Jake's eyes darkened with pleasure. "No, not quite, but school was good. I'm in architecture. What about you?"
"Nursing."
Jake's heart pounded in his chest as he thought of all the naughty little nursing costumes on the market. His face reddened, forgetting where he was momentarily--in a sea of old people, getting a raging hard on.

(Timer just went off!-- what a place to stop! lol  Well, I hope you enjoyed the writing prompt. This was a fun one, and just what I needed to start the day. How about you do the same? Look at the picture above, and time yourself for five minutes. It's a very relaxing and fun way to get your mind working! And when you're done, please share it with me!  Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. For more of my writing, please visit my Amazon page below for my full list of books!)

The 105 Author prompts--starting now...

So, I am terrible at blogging. More than likely, I'll forget to blog for a day or 200, then come back to where I started and then just give up, or -- with any luck, I'll make it through the 105 prompts... we shall see.

So, I bought a kindle ebook called, "Building Your Fanbase" by Shannon O'Neil & Toni Tesori (Duolit) and I am going to go through the entire thing, hoping to build up something that hasn't been there... There was a lot of great information in the book, including a link to an outside webpage with blog prompting for authors. I can't tell you how excited I was to see that! So, bear with me while I learn the ropes of blogging through this long, and tedious process.

What childhood show would you love to bring back?

This one is a toughie... Although I loved the shows that I watched while growing up, I tried a few in the past again, hoping to gain back a little youth and nostalgia, it didn't quite go as expected. I was a huge fan of Adrien Paul, which I will be meeting in a few short days at FANDOMFEST! in Louisville, Kentucky, (Cue Author self promotion here! lol-- I will be signing books Friday, Saturday & Sunday at the Kentucky, Convention Center-at the Galt House)  Anyway, I loved watching the show "Highlander", really it was the highlight of my brother & I's day. But when I turned it on to start from the beginning of a long series show--yeah, not really the epic highlight I thought it was. So, I promptly turned the television off, not wanting to spoil my memories of one of the GREATEST SHOWS ON EARTH...

It's tough, being impressionable. :) What television shows would you like to bring back? Which ones did you love, but you are afraid you made them out to be more than they are, just like Highlander?

If you would like to see Adrien Paul, or meet me in person to talk more about Highlander or your favorite books, why not stop by our FANDOMFEST booth this weekend!  The website link is below:) Thanks for reading!

In this novella, Tessa and Jake have known each other since they were infants. It took one drunken night for them to realize they were in it for the long haul. Of course, life gets in the way of perfection and it takes an arch, a romantic cowboy and a dream of forever for this couple to get together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jake is Swoonworthy! June 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Oh My! When I started this book I was instantly hooked. Two kids all grown up and they find themselves in an awkward situation. The story was wonderfully written. Jake is dreamy, his love for Tessa broke my heart. I'm not going to let the "Cat out of the bag", but, have tissues handy. I found myself torn with feeling sorry for Tessa, but hating her at the same time for the pain she was causing Jake. I swear if this novella didn't end like it did I would've thrown a huge temper tantrum. I cried big ugly tears in the end. Happy ones of course. I really hope that the author continues this story. I would love to read more of Jake and Tessa. The only negative from me is the length. I want more, I can't help it. I'm Greedy! Well Done Danielle. 5 Lasso Roped Stars from this reader.

Format:Kindle Edition
Even though this is a short novella, I have to say that it packs a powerful punch. So much emotion and love the characters have for each other. It is an amazing love story that endures the unimaginable. I did, however, want to punch Tessa in the throat in a couple of parts and wrap my arms around Jake to comfort him. I laughed, I sobbed like a baby, and I fell in love with the characters. I am actually ready to start reading it again even though I just closed the book.
